Jurbarkas

Jurbarkas 

a city and the administrative center of Jurbarkas Raion, Lithuanian SSR. Jurbarkas has a landing on the right bank of the Neman River. Industry is represented by a branch of the Kudirkos-Naumiestis Flax-processing Plant, a butter factory, a plant producing nonmetallic building materials, a building-materials combine, and ship repair yards. A people’s amateur theater and the Vincas Grybas Museum are also located in the city. Jurbarkas arose around a castle built in the 13th century.

In 2008, Jolanta Bertasiene and Vanda Stoniene, two women on the community council in the small town of Smalininkai in Jurbarkas district, decided to build a 250 kW wind power-station.
But before then, the Vale hosts a visit by representatives of the Lithuanian city of Jurbarkas later this month.
