Justus of Tiberia, fl. 1st cent. A.D., Jewish historian. Friendly to Rome, he opposed the Jewish war against the Romans and fled to Beirut where he became the private secretary of Agrippa II. He is mainly known for his lost History of the Jewish War, written from a different point of view than the work of the same title by his rival Josephus. Justus' book is known to us through its mention by Josephus and the early Fathers of the Church. How to thank TFD for its existence?
