In a second room, we find paintings by friends and contemporaries of Bacon, including Elisabeth Frink's lithograph, Icarus, Graham Sutherland's Thorn Cross (orange background), Bacon's own portrait of Richard Hamilton, Lucian Freud's Girl Sitting (etching) and Frank Auerbach's JYM Seated.
