Kafa 

an ancient Kabardinian group folk dance. The tempo ismoderate; the musical measure is 6/8 or 2/4. The kafa is per-formed in pairs. A woman accompanies the dancers with anaccordion. As she plays, she participates in the dance. The kafa begins and ends as a round dance; the middle part is performed in individual pairs. Variations of this dance are performed inAdygeia and Ossetia.
