Kagera River

Kagera River

River, northwestern Tanzania. The most remote headstream of the Nile River and the largest tributary of Lake Victoria, it rises in Burundi near the northern tip of Lake Tanganyika and flows north, constituting the boundary between Tanzania and Rwanda. Turning east, it forms the boundary between Tanzania and Uganda before emptying into Lake Victoria. It is about 250 mi (400 km) long.

And from Rwanda came the grisly addition of some 40,000 human corpses - war casualties that floated down the Kagera River in May 1994.
