Kahana Valley State Park Location: At 55-222 Kamehameha Highway (Highway 83) in Kahana. Facilities: Campgrounds, picnic areas, beach, hiking trails, cultural site, public hunting area. Activities: Camping, hiking, swimming, bodysurfing, other beach-related activities, pig hunting. Special Features: This scenic wildland valley offers visitors a glimpse of the islands before the arrival of Westerners. The park features a historic fishpond along the shoreline of the bay, and a short hike leads to a fishing shrine known as a koa. In addition to the beach-related activities available, visitors can pick fruit in a lushly vegetated forest or picnic in a coconut grove.
