Kaitags
(self-designation, Khaidaklan), an ethnic group thatis related in language and main features of culture and way oflife to the Darghins, with whom they have almost merged. TheKaitags live in the southeastern part of the Dagestan ASSR andspeak the Kaitag dialect of Darghin. They were first mentionedin historical literature in the ninth century a.d.
