Kalakan
(Kalagan), a river in the north of Chita Oblast, RSFSR; right tributary of the Vitim. Length, 314 km; basin area, 10, 600 sq km. The river flows near the southern foot of theIankan range. It is fed primarily by rain and snow. Averageannual water flow at the mouth is 74.2 cu m per sec. The Kala-kan freezes over in mid-October and thaws in mid-May.
