Size: 10,779 acres.
Established: Authorized on December 22, 1980. Administered in cooperation with several Hawaii state agencies.
Location: On the central northern coast of the Island of Molokai, Hawaii.
Facilities: Museum/exhibit.
Activities: The National Park Service does not offer any regularly scheduled interpretive programs or activities because of the restricted nature of visitation to the park. Tours of the park are offered through a commercial service, owned and operated by a Kalaupapa resident.
Special Features: Park contains the site of the Molokai Island Hansen's disease (leprosy) settlement (1866-1969), areas relating to early Hawaiian settlement, scenic and geological resources, and habitats for rare and endangered species. The churches of Siloama, established in 1866 and St. Philomena, begun in 1872 and associated with the work of Father Damien (Joseph DeVeuster) are located at Kalawao. Father Damien's life and death among his people foccussed the attention of the world on the problem of this disease and the plight of its victims.

Born in Belgium, the famed Father Damien was ordained in Honolulu before traveling to the Kalaupapa leprosy settlement on Molokai Island in 1873.
