Kalima

Kalima 

(until 1968, Albertville), a city in the eastern part of the Republic of Zaϊre, in Shaba Province. Population, 30, 000 (1960). A trade and transportation center, it is a port on the western bank of Lake Tanganyika. It also has a railroad station. Kalima has enterprises of the light, cement, food, and pharmaceutical industries and a shipyard. There is fishing.
