a university founded in 1967 in Kaliningrad, Kaliningrad Oblast, RSFSR.

As of 1972, the University of Kaliningrad had departments ofphysics and mathematics, history and philology, economics and law, geography, and chemistry and biology. There are prepara-tory, evening, and extension divisions, as well as a graduate school. There are 27 subdepartments, over 30 laboratories, and botanical gardens. The research library contains 350, 000 booksand journals. There was a total of 4, 300 students in 1972 andmore than 250 instructors, including 21 doctors of science andprofessors and more than 100 candidates of science and docents. Nauchnye Trudy (Scholarly Works) has been published by the university since 1968.
