Kalininsk 

(until 1962, the settlement of Balanda), a city, center of Kalininsk Raion, Saratov Oblast, RSFSR, situated onthe Balanda River (a tributary of the Medveditsa River). Termi-nal station (Kalininsk-Saratovskii) on a railroad branch (80 km) of the Rtishchevo-Saratov line. Population, 16, 000 (1970). Kali-ninsk has an automobile repair enterprise and factories produc-ing bricks, asphalt and concrete, and rubber industrial products.Enterprises of the food industry include a brewery, a poultry combine, and a milk-bottling plant. There are also sanatoriums in Kalininsk.


Kalininsk 

an urban-type settlement in Edintsy Raion, Mol-davian SSR, located 2 km from the Bratushany railroad station.Population, 5, 100 (1970). Kalininsk has construction materials, sugar, and tobacco-curing plants. A cannery is under construc-tion (1972).
