Kalitva 

(also called Belaia Kalitva, Bol’shaia Kalitva), a riverin Rostov Oblast, RSFSR, a left tributary of the Severskii Do-nets. The Kalitva measures 308 km long and drains an area of10, 600 sq km. It originates on the southern slopes of the DonRidge and is fed primarily by snow. The largest tributaries arethe Ol’khovaia, Bol’shaia, and Berezovaia rivers (on the left).The river is navigable in its lower course. The city of BelaiaKalitva is located at the confluence of the Kalitva and SeverskiiDonets rivers.
