Kalvarija 

a city in Kapsukas Raion, Lithuanian SSR, onthe šešupe River (a tributary of the Nemunas), on the highwayfrom Kaunas to Suwalki (Poland), 4 km from the Kalvarijarailroad station (on a branch of the Kaunas-Kaliningrad line). Kalvarija has a wool-spinning factory, a plant producing wallmaterials, and a food industry technicum. The city was foundedin 1791. [11–572^]
