Kamenskoe Plato

a climatic and koumiss-treatment health resort in the Kazakh SSR. It is located 10 km from Alma-Ata, in the foothills of the Zailiiskii Alatau, at an elevation of 1,250 m. Summers are warm, with average July temperatures of 20°C, and winters are clear, dry, and moderately mild, with average January temperatures of — 4°C. The total annual precipitation is approximately 780 mm. Therapeutic remedies include heliotherapy, air treatments, and koumiss treatments. There are sanatoriums for patients with active forms of pulmonary tuberculosis.
