Kaneohe (kä`nāōhā), uninc. city (1990 pop. 35,448), Honolulu co., Hawaii, on the east coast of Oahu, on Kaneohe Bay. Once the site of a pineapple plantation and cannery, it is a residential seaside community. A nearby U.S. marine corps air station was attacked by the Japanese on Dec. 7, 1941. Many ancient fishponds built by Hawaiian chiefs are in the area. How to thank TFD for its existence?
