Mulayam Singh Yadav's daughter- in- law Dimple was routed by 85,000 votes in a seat which her husband Akhilesh had won this May by 67,000 votes, but had to vacate after also bagging Kannauj.
The loss of Ferozabad Lok Sabha seat to its erstwhile ally Congress party is going to hurt the party the most since it had nominated Mulayam's daughter-in-law Dimple Yadav as its candidate in place of her husband Akhilesh, who quit the Ferozabad seat after having been elected from both Ferozabad and Kannauj seats in the May Lok Sabha elections.
The Lok Sabha by-election was necessitated after Akhilesh Yadav, Mulayam's son vacated the seat and retained Kannauj seat.
