Kant, Hermann
Born June 14, 1926, in Hamburg. German writer and publicist (German Democratic Republic). Kant’s first collection of short stories was A Bit of the South Sea (1962). His novels The Auditorium (1965; Russian translation, 1968) and Impressum (1972; Russian translation, 1974) were devoted to the problems of personality development in a socialist society. Kant was awarded the Heinrich Heine Prize in 1962 and the H. Mann Prize in 1967. WORKSIn Stockholm. Berlin, 1971. (In collaboration with L.
