Kantegir

a mountain range in the central part of the Zapadnyi Saian (Krasnoiarsk Krai, RSFSR), situated between the Enisei River and its left tributary, the Kantegir. Length, about 90km, with elevations of 1, 800–2, 000 m (the greatest elevation is2, 485 m). It is composed of crystalline schists and granites. Theslopes are dissected by deep erosional valleys. Landscapes ofdark coniferous mountain taiga predominate. A mountain in theupper reaches of the Kantegir River is also sometimes calledKantegir.
