Kapchinskii, Anatolii Konstantinovich
Born June 6, 1912, in Saratov; died 1942. One of the first Masters of Sport of the USSR (1935), engineer. Became a member of the CPSU in 1941. Kapchinskii was a champion and record holder of the USSR in speed ice skating (1936–40). During the Great Patriotic War of 1941–45, he fought in the partisan detachment of Hero of the Soviet Union D. N. Medvedev. He was killed behind enemy lines. Kapchinskii was awarded the Order of the Patriotic War First class, as well as medals.
