Karabas

Karabas 

an urban-type settlement in Karaganda Oblast, Ka-zakh SSR. Railroad station, 34 km south of Karaganda. Population, 9, 000 (1970). It has a combine for the production ofprefabricated building materials and a plant for the productionof reinforced-concrete structures. Karabas is the site of a stone quarry.
