an urban-type settlement and center of Taldy-Kurgan Raion, Taldy-Kurgan Oblast, Kazakh SSR. It is situated in the foothills of the Dzungarian Alatau. The settlementhas a railroad station 17 km southeast of the city of Taldy-Kurgan. Population, 21,000 (1970). Industry includes a sugar-refining combine and a flour-milling and mixed feed combine aswell as a brick yard.


Karabulak

 

an urban-type settlement in Sunzha Raion, Chechen-Ingush ASSR. It is situated on the Sunzha River and has a railroad station on the Groznyi-Beslan line. Industry includes plants producing dry reagents, asphalt concrete, and gasoline.
