Karcag (kŏr`tsŏg), city (1991 est. pop. 23,650), E Hungary. A road and rail junction, Karcag is an important communications point.
Karcag a city in eastern Hungary, in the megye (district) ofSzolnok. Population, 24, 600 (1970). There is extraction of natu-ral gas, as well as food-processing industry (flour mills and rice-polishing), a glassworks, and a brickyard. Most of the populaceis engaged in agriculture.
