Karlovac

Karlovac 

a city in Yugoslavia, in the Socialist Republic of Croatia, on the Kupa River (a tributary of the Sava). Population, 47, 500 (1971). It is a major transportation junction. Industry includes the Jugoturbina Electrical-engineering Plant and leather, ceramics, wood-products, and tobacco enterprises. Nearby, in the city of Duga Resa, there is a large textile combine.

The suspect, whose name was not disclosed, was nabbed in the Karlovac region, 50 kilometres (30 miles) south of the capital Zagreb, appropriately at the wheel of a Uno, said police spokeswoman Aleksandra Ljuba.
The increase was most pronounced in the Dalmatian and Karlovac eparchies, where return of refugees had been the most intense.
