Karlsbad Salt
a salt obtained by evaporating the spring waters at the resort of Karlovy Vary (Czechoslovakia). Karlsbad salt is used as a laxative and cholagogue. Artificial Karlsbad salt contains 44 parts sodium sulfate, 36 parts sodiumhydrocarbonate, 18 parts sodium chloride, and two parts potas-sium sulfate.
