Karp, Ivan C. (1926– ) gallery director, writer; born in New York City. He attended public school, became the director of the Leo Castelli Gallery (1959), and director and president of the O. K. Harris Gallery in 1969. He was called the "father of pop art," and wrote one of the first pop art novels, Doobie Doo (1966). He was also involved in saving architectural fragments from restored or demolished buildings. |
