Born Nov. 1 (14), 1905, in Orel. Soviet screenwriter.

Vinogradskaia’s literary activity began in 1926. Her first work for the cinema was the scenario for the film Fragment of an Empire (1929). The scenario showed the changes that had occurred in Russia after the October Revolution through the perception of a man who had lost his memory because of a contusion suffered during World War I and had regained it during the 1920’s. Her most important work is the scenario for the film Member of the Government (1940), devoted to the fortunes of a peasant woman who becomes chairman of a kolkhoz and a deputy to the Supreme Soviet during the Soviet period. Vinogradskaia has also written the scenarios for Party Card (at first entitled Anna, 1936), The Road of Glory (1949), Meeting Life (1952), and other films. She began teaching at the Ail-Union State Institute of Cinematography in 1956. Vinogradskaia has been awarded the Order of the Badge of Honor as well as a medal.
