Kay, Herma Hill (1934– ) legal scholar; born in Orangeburg, S.C. A professor at the University of California: Berkeley (1960), she is best known for her work in family law and sex discrimination. Her major publications are Law in Culture and Society (1969) and Text, Cases, Comments, Questions (with Cranston and Currie, 1987).
