Kaye, Nora (b. Koreff) (1920–87) ballet dancer; born in New York City. After her youthful training with the Metropolitan Opera Company's dance corps, Kaye performed in musical comedies in the late 1930s and became a founding member of Ballet Theatre in 1939. She was known for her dramatic performances of Anthony Tudor's choreography, especially Pillar of Fire (1942), and except for a few years at New York City Ballet (1951–54), she performed with Ballet Theatre until she retired from performance in 1961. She was executive or coproducer of seven films including The Turning Point (1977) and she served as associate artistic director of Ballet Theatre (1977–83).
