Kayser, Heinrich Gustav Johannes (hīn`rĭkh gs`täf yōhän`əs kī`zər), 1853–1940, German physicist. He was professor at Bonn from 1894 to 1920. He is known for his work in sound and, in association with C. D. T. Runge, in spectrum spectrum, arrangement or display of light or other form of radiation separated according to wavelength, frequency, energy, or some other property.
