Kazi Zadeh Al-Rumi 

Born circa 1360 in Bursa, Turkey; died circa 1437. Mathematician and astronomer.

Kazi Zadeh worked in Samarkand in Ulug Beg’s observatory. He was one of the compilers of Zij Ulug Beg and the author of Treatise on the Determination of the Sine of One Degree, which contains the derivation and solution of the equation for a chord of 2° (that is, the doubled sine of 1°).
