Kellogg, Vernon Lyman, 1867–1937, American zoologist, b. Emporia, Kans., B.A. Univ. of Kansas, 1889. He was professor (1894–1920) of entomology at Stanford Univ. He served (1915–16) as director in Brussels of the American Commission for Relief in Belgium and later held other positions with the American Relief Administration in Europe. From 1919 to 1931 he was permanent secretary of the National Research Council. He worked in insect taxonomy and in economic entomology and was also known for his interpretations of science for the layperson. How to thank TFD for its existence?
