Kendall, Henry W. (Way) (1926– ) physicist; born in Boston, Mass. He taught and performed research at Stanford (1956–61) before returning to his alma mater, the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (1961). He and colleague Jerome Friedman shared the 1990 Nobel Prize in physics with Richard Taylor for their experiments confirming the existence of quarks. How to thank TFD for its existence?
