Kentucky Dam Village State Resort Park Location: 21 miles southeast of Paducah (exit 27 off I-24). Facilities: 72-room lodge, 346-seat dining room, 14-room inn (near the golf course; can be rented as an entire unit), 68 cottages, swimming pool (for lodge, inn, and cottage guests only); 221 paved campsites with water and electric hookups, 4 buildings with showers and restrooms, and grocery store; air camp that allows camping by visitor's aircraft; picnic shelters, playground, tennis courts, riding stables (seasonal), 18-hole golf course; marina, boat ramp, boat rentals (including pedal boats); paved, lighted airstrip, convention center, meeting rooms, gift shop. Activities: Camping, swimming, fishing, boating, water-skiing, horseback riding, golfing, tennis, recreational programs. Special Features: Park features the largest marina in the state park system on the largest lake in the state. Nearby is Land Between the Lakes National Recreation Area, a 170,000-acre wooded peninsula bounded by Kentucky Lake and Lake Barkley, which offers more than 200 miles of hiking trails (see entry in national forests section).
