Name Origin: A Potawatomi word whose meaning is unclear; possibly 'to cross a point,' referring to the river between Green Bay and Lake Michigan or 'prairie hen' or 'wild duck.' Area (sq mi): 1084.52 (land 342.64; water 741.89). Pop per sq mi: 60.80. Pop 2005: 20,840. State rank: 50. Pop change: 2000-20005 3.20%; 1990-2000 6.90%. Pop 2000: 20,187 (White 98.20%; Black or African American 0.20%; Hispanic or Latino 0.80%; Asian 0.10%; Other 1.20%). Foreign born: 0.90%. Median age: 37.50.
