Keystone State Park Location: 10 miles west of Sand Springs on US 412, then 0.5 miles south on Keystone Dam Road (between US 64 & SH 51). Facilities: 40 modern campsites, 40 semi-modern campsites, 64 primitive campsites, 22 cabins, showers, picnic area, 5 group shelters, restaurant, trails, fitness trail, bicycle rentals, marina, fuel dock, boat ramps, boat rentals, enclosed fishing dock, camp store, snack bar, playground (é). Activities: Camping, boating, sailing, windsurfing, fishing, swimming, water-skiing, hiking, wildlife viewing. Special Features: Surrounded by woods, high bluffs, and low rolling hills, the park’s blue-green Keystone Reservoir features white sandy beaches and unusual sandstone outcrops. The lake, which encompasses 26,300 surface acres with 330 miles of shoreline, offers outstanding fishing for stripers, walleyes, catfish, white and black bass, and crappie. Eagles visit the park between October and March; an observation platform is located on the north end of the dam. Keystone State Park Location: Just south of US 22, off Highway 981, near New Alexandria. Facilities: 100 class A campsites, showers, flush toilets, 11 modern cabins (1 @di), picnic areas, picnic pavilions, snack bar, hiking trails (6 miles), bike trail (2 miles), swimming beach, fishing pier (é), boat launch, boat mooring, visitor center. Activities: Camping, boating (electric motors only), fishing, swimming, hiking, bicycling, hunting, cross-country skiing, ice fishing, ice skating, sledding, snowshoeing, nature programs. Special Features: Park features 78-acre Keystone Lake, which was constructed by the Keystone Coal and Coke Company in the early 1900s. The coal company purchased the land from the McClelland family in 1909, and the original farmhouse remains in use in the park today.
