Khal’mg Unn

(Kalmyk Pravda), a Kalmyk-language newspaper that circulates throughout the Kalmyk ASSR. Founded in 1920 as Ulan Khal’mg (Red Kalmykia), it underwent several changes of name before the present title was adopted in 1957. Publication was suspended from 1943 to 1956. The newspaper appears five times a week in Elista. Khal’mg unn was awarded the Order of the Badge of Honor in 1970. Circulation, approximately 7,000 (1976).
