Kharasch, Morris

Kharasch, Morris (Selig) (1895–1957) organic chemist; born in Kremenets, Ukraine. He emigrated to the U.S.A. in 1908. He taught at the University of Maryland (1922–27). His own pioneering research in organic chemistry contributed to developing plastics and synthetic rubber. He was a founder of the Journal of Organic Chemistry.
