Kharia 

a people living in the Ranchi district in the state of Bihar, India. Population, more than 88,000 (1971 census). The language of the Kharia is related to the Munda language group. Their religion combines elements of Hinduism and animistic beliefs. They engage in agriculture (rice), hunting, and gathering. They are gradually being assimilated by surrounding peoples (Biharis and others).
