Khimki 

a city (since 1939) under oblast jurisdiction and administrative center of Khimki Raion, Moscow Oblast, RSFSR. Located at the intersection of the Moscow Canal and the Oktiabr’skaia Railroad. Population, 106,000 (1977; in 1939, 23,000). Khimki’s cultural institutions include the Moscow Institute of Culture, the evening department of the All-Union Machine Building Correspondence Institute, and the Moscow School of Culture and Education.
