Khor 

an urban-type settlement in Lazo Raion, Khabarovsk Krai, RSFSR. Khor is located on the Khor River, a tributary of the Ussuri. It has a railroad station on the Khabarovsk-Vladivostok line, 72 km south of Khabarovsk. Industry is represented by a wood-products combine, a hydrolysis plant, and a brickyard. A biochemical combine was under construction in 1978.


Khor 

(also Khoro, Por), a river in Khabarovsk Krai, RSFSR; a right tributary of the Ussuri. The Khor River is 453 km long and drains an area of 24,700 sq km. It flows along a deep valley on the western slope of the Sikhote-Alin’; the lower course flows through the Lower Amur lowland, dividing into branches near the mouth. The river is fed primarily by rain. There is catastrophic flooding in the summer. The mean flow rate is 388 cu m per sec (maximum, about 5,000 cu m per sec). The Khor freezes in late October or November, and the ice breaks up in late April or early May. It is used to float timber. There is local navigation for 196 km from the mouth.
