Kilburger, Johann Philipp 

Date of birth unknown; died 1721. Swedish diplomat. Author of the work Brief Description of Russian Trade: How It Was Carried on in 1674.

In 1673–74, Kilburger visited Moscow as part of a Swedish embassy and wrote a book that was first published in German in 1769. He argued that it was advantageous to transfer Russian trade from the White Sea to the Baltic. Kilburger’s work is a valuable source for the economic history of Russia in the 17th century. It appeared in Russian translation in 1820.
