Kincaid, Thomas (Cassin) (1888–1972) naval officer; born in Hanover, N.H. He took command of the USS Enterprise after the attack on Pearl Harbor. He took part in the battles of the Coral Sea, Midway, and the eastern Solomons. As Douglas MacArthur's naval commander (1943–45), he participated in the New Guinea and Philippines operations. He fought the battle of Leyte Gulf (1944) and landed American troops in Korea in 1945.
