Kirsten, Dorothy (1917–92) soprano; born in Montclair, N.J. After studies at Juilliard and in Rome, she debuted with the Chicago Opera in 1940 and at the Metropolitan in 1945, singing her final performance there (as Tosca) in 1975. Among her noted roles were as Mimi in La Bohème.
