Kissyn-Fandyr
(also, khoiysar-fandyr), an Ossetian stringed instrument that is played with a bow. It measures 650–700 mm long and has two or three strings. The two-stringed version is tuned in fourths, and the three-stringed in thirds and fifths. In 1940 orchestral varieties of the kissyn-fandyr were created (soprano, alto, tenor, bass, and contrabass).
