Kitt, Eartha

    0.04 sec.
Kitt, (Earth Mae) Eartha (?1928–  ) singer; born in North, S.C. Originally a dancer with the Katherine Dunham troupe, she stayed in Paris after a tour and gained a reputation as a club singer. Returning to Broadway in 1952, she lent her cat-like voice and demeanor to a number of stage and film roles over the next 30 years but her mannered style made her an exotic.
