Kïzïl Tang
(Red Dawn), the daily newspaper of the Bashkir ASSR, published in the Tatar language in Ufa. It was founded in 1918 under the name Bashkortostan (Bashkiria). The name of the newspaper was then changed repeatedly; it has been Kïzïl Tang since 1944. The newspaper was awarded the Order of the Red Banner of Labor in 1968 in honor of the 50th anniversary of the publication of its first issue. Circulation, over 106,000 (1972).
