Kjeldahl, Johan Gustav Christoffer
Born Aug. 16, 1849, in Jaegerspris; died July 18, 1900, in Tisvilde. Danish chemist. Kjeldahl was head of the Carlsberg Laboratory in Copehagen from 1876. In 1883 he proposed a method of determining the amount of nitrogen in organic substances, which is known as the Kjeldahl method.
