Kliushnikov, Viktor Petrovich
Born Mar. 10 (22), 1841, in the village of Aleksianovka, Gzhatsk District, Smolensk Province; died Nov. 7 (19), 1892, in St. Petersburg. Russian writer. Kliushnikov’s novel The Mirage (1864) is a distorted and slanderous depiction of revolutionary youth. His novel Big Ships (1866; complete edition, 1874), his novella The Nonmirage (1871), and his historical novellas for youth are written from a patriarchal monarchist point of view.
