Knudsen, Christian Holtermann

    0.01 sec.
Knudsen, Christian Holtermann

Born July 15, 1845; died Apr. 21, 1929. Figure in the workers’ socialist movement of Norway. Printer by profession.

In 1887, Knudsen helped found the Norwegian Labor Party (NLP) and was a member of its Central Board until 1918. Knudsen fought against the nationalistic right deviation in the NLP. From 1906 to 1915 he was a deputy in the Storting. From 1909 to 1918 he was chairman of the NLP; his policies in this post were opportunistic. He left active political life in 1918.
